Cottage gardens are free flowing, contain coloured flowering plants and grow best in an area with good rainfall or where water tanks are in use.
Planting usually consists of flowering soft varieties of plants.
Cottage gardens require regular watering and are faily low maintenance due to their free flowing style. However, it is advisable to fertilise and trim plants.
Bulbs will need to be planted, lifted and replanted from time-to-time.
Other plants can be lifted, split and replanted.
